PBIS

Our students took a PBIS Interest Inventory at the beginning of the school year to determine which items they would like to purchase in the PAW Store.  Students cash in their PAW tickets at the end of each month.

Items that they are particularly interested in include: Slime, fidget spinners, emoji items, stress balls, coin pouches, slap bracelets, stamps & stickers, key chains, and bubbles.

We are accepting donations of any of these items.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION and/or CHANGES FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR

  • The school day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.  Students not riding the bus may not be dropped off before 7:45 a.m.  The school day ends at 3:00 pm.  Parents of car riders should be in the car line at 3:00 p.m.

  • When exiting the school, please put your turning signal on to inform the crossing guard which way you need to turn.

  • The parent pick up circle and extra parking construction has been delayed due to the wet summer conditions.  Construction should take place this year.

  • Please refer to the 17-18 BBE Dress Code Policy.  A reminder that pullover hooded sweatshirts, long sleeve sweatshirts/sweaters, and undershirts, that are black, white, navy, khaki, gray, or the designated school color (hunter green) will be permitted.  These items should be solid colors.

  • Terrebonne Parish School District must comply with Louisiana Act 331, Act 306, and the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  All foods sold, or given to, students during the school day must meet their guidelines.  This will affect what you can send to your child’s class for treats, birthdays, etc.  Additional information will be posted on our school’s website.  Please refer to  https://www.louisianafitkids.com/ for more information.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Rodrigue.

COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION (CEP)

Beginning this school year, all students at Bayou Black Elementary will be part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.  All students at Bayou Black Elementary are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2016-2017 school year.  No further action is required by guardians of our students.  All students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application, as long as they remain at Bayou Black Elementary or if they transfer to another school in Terrebonne Parish that is participating.

If you have any questions about CEP, please contact the Child Nutrition Department at (985) 876-7407.  For further information, you can also visit the USDA Community Eligibility Provision website (click here).

Ongoing Fundraising

We are collecting labels from Box Tops for Education, Community Coupons, Campbell's, used ink jet and laser cartridges and caps from Coca Cola products.  These items may be sent to school any time.  All money made from these companies help to buy supplies and incentives for our students.
