BBE Career Day!

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to announce that we will be having a “Career Day” for our 6th grade students. Over the last couple of months, our 6th grade students have been learning about several career choices. Each student has picked a career that he or she may be interested in. Our 6th grade students will present their presentations at “Career Day.” Students can dress up as their chosen profession on this day. We hope that you can join us on Thursday, May 18, 2017 for our “Career Day!” Career Day will begin at 9:00 am in the Cafeteria. It has been a pleasure working and getting to know your children this year!

VISION STATEMENT: Our vision is to become an “A” school!

Bayou Black Elementary will become an "A" school by empowering students to achieve high academic and social standards through high quality education in a safe, supportive environment resulting in successful, life-long learners.

All students will learn the skills needed to be successful now and in the future.

SMART GOALS picture.jpg

Beginning this school year, all students at Bayou Black Elementary will be part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.  All students at Bayou Black Elementary are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2016-2017 school year.  No further action is required by guardians of our students.  All students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application, as long as they remain at Bayou Black Elementary or if they transfer to another school in Terrebonne Parish that is participating.

If you have any questions about CEP, please contact the Child Nutrition Department at (985) 876-7407.  For further information, you can also visit the USDA Community Eligibility Provision website (click here).

Ongoing Fundraising

We are collecting labels from Box Tops for Education, Community Coupons, Campbell's, used ink jet and laser cartridges and used cell phones.  These items may be sent to school any time.  All money made from these companies help to buy supplies and incentives for our students.
